A few days ago, inspired by the awesome work of Mateusz Urbanowicz, I’ve decided to buy some sketching tools and draw something after so many years since the last time I’ve held a pencil in my hand.
After a couple of quick sketches just to get comfortable with the various pens and brushes, I chose a photo I took in the Nagamachi district in Kanazawa in 2016 as the model to break in my new sketchbook.
There are many errors (I won’t point them out, but they are super obvious!), but also many things I’m very proud of (the trees and the wooden panels), and all in all, it’s not too shabby for a first attempt, is it?
Hopefully I haven’t screwed up too much those 金沢市 kanji for Kanazawa!
